Superintendent Message

March 7, 2022

WCPS Community,

Due to the unusual and ever changing circumstances throughout the past two years, a decision was made to postpone the annual State of Our District address until this spring. In preparation for this event, we want to offer our faculty, staff, parents/guardians and other stakeholders an opportunity to submit questions they would like to see covered in the address. We encourage you to submit a question(s). Due to the potential for a wide range of questions, in the interest of time, we may need to consolidate some questions by topics. You can submit up to three questions by clicking here

Congratulations to our 2021-2022 National Merit Finalists: Gatton Academy and Greenwood High School’s Bella Norman, Samirah Salifu, and Arivumani Srivastava, Greenwood High School’s Veronique DeMarse, South Warren High School’s Ethan Brown, Emily Fan, Jacob Jackson and Shelby Williams! Only 15,000 students from across the country advanced to Finalist standing!  We are extremely proud of their amazing achievements!

Also, congratulations to our state Beta winners from WCPS!  Listed here are the WCPS students that placed in the top three at their state Beta competitions. Year after year, our students perform extremely well during the state Beta competition and this year was no different.  Our students continue to amaze me each day with their talents and I’m so proud of our students who go above and beyond in and out of the classroom! In addition, we have incredible Beta sponsors and teachers who are willing to spend extra time with our students in order for them to excel in these highly competitive events.

We are fortunate to live in a school community that truly values our students and educators and I want to thank everyone for the unwavering support. As always, let us know if you ever need any assistance and please take care!
