Superintendent Message

October 22, 2021

WCPS Family:

I want to thank our faculty and staff for going above and beyond every single day in these challenging times. I can assure you that we are doing everything possible to provide our students with high level instruction and engaging learning opportunities.

In our previous communication, we explained that our current COVID-19 Operations plan entailed reviewing our mask mandate at the end of each month.  We have decided beginning Monday, November 1, 2021 students and staff will have the option of wearing a mask in our school facilities and at our extra-curricular events.  However, the mask requirement will remain in place on our busses due to the large number of students who sit in close proximity with one another for an extended period of time.

Close contacts at school who are without symptoms (i.e., fever or feeling feverish, new cough, difficulty breathing, sore throat, muscle/body aches, vomiting/diarrhea or new loss of taste or smell) will no longer be required to quarantine. However, the quarantining of close contacts within the community will continue because these cases are under the authority of our local health department.

It is important to note that we will continue to closely monitor our metrics and revisit the mask guidelines as necessary.  In addition, it is strongly recommended that everyone continue to wear masks.

We have some exciting upcoming initiatives.  The Synergy Center is collecting turkeys to help our families this holiday season.  You can call Toni Langevin at (270) 781-5150 to find out how you can donate to help fellow WCPS’ families.

We’re also accepting nominations for WCPS’ Hall of Distinguished Alumni, which pays tribute to graduates of Warren County Public Schools who have distinguished themselves and brought honor to the Warren County Public Schools District through their professional, civic and/or humanitarian contributions and accomplishments.  Nomination forms may be picked up at the Warren County Public Schools Central Office located at 303 Lovers Lane, from any school in the Warren County Public Schools District, or you can click here to download the nomination form.  For more information about the Hall of Distinguished Alumni click here

Thank you for your continued support of our students and staff and please reach out if you ever need our assistance.  Take care!
