Leader in Me

The Leader in Me is a leadership development program for all students based on Dr. Steven Covey's book 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.  Cumberland Trace teachers, students, and staff implement the Leader in Me program everyday at our school.  The 7 Habits we implement are:

  1. Be Proactive
  2. Begin with the End in Mind
  3. Put First Things First
  4. Think Win - Win
  5. Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood
  6. Synergize
  7. Sharpen the Saw

For a definition of each habit, visit the Leader in Me website.

Principal's Monthly Message

May 2023

It is hard to believe that we have reached the final month of the 2022-2023 school year. This is a busy but exciting time at CTE. Our 3rd-6th grade students will be taking the Kentucky Summative Assessment (KSA) on Friday, May 5 through Friday, May 12. Our students have worked hard all year preparing for this assessment.

We have many fun activities planned for our final month of school. On Thursday, May 18 we will be hosting our annual Talent Show. This is an event where our students get the opportunity to showcase their many talents. We will also have our Arts Gala/ End of Year Bash on May 18 as well. This event allows our CTE families to learn more about the many different cultures represented at our school. We will also have student artwork on display. There will be a silent auction, food trucks, and more for you and your family to enjoy.

The biggest event of the year, field day, will be on Friday, May 19. Mr.Tolbert and Ms.Downing have put in a lot of time and effort to make this the best one yet. Remember to bring a beach towel, sunscreen, and an extra set of clothes to school on this day.

As always, be sure to check out our Tiger Tales every Friday. This is the best way to stay up to date with things happening inside and outside of our school. Thank you for being an active participant in your child’s education. If you ever have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.
